Pubs
In traditional Irish Pubs, it is usual, that traditional music is played at some nights, especially on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Three to ten musicians are playing instrumental Irish folk music or one musician is singing folk songs accompanied by a guitar. And sometimes, there is an open stage. That means that everyone can bring his musical instrument and play music. In pubs, which are not so traditional, you can also hear other music. But a pub without music is very rare.
Pubs are very important for Irishmen and –women. Some say, a pub is the second living room for them. The majority of Irishmen love to talk and drink alcohol. They are very sociable. By the way, there is a ban on smoking in all public buildings in Ireland and so in pubs, too. All smokers have to go in front of the door when they want to smoke.
