Irish Folk Music
Irish folk music is the folk music of Ireland. As you know, Ireland is the island on the left of Great Britain. Ireland is divided into two parts: Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. In contrast to the independent Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland belongs to the UK, which has been a problem for many Irish people so far. The Republic of Ireland has an area of 70,280 square kilometres and has 4.2 million inhabitants. 95 % of the inhabitants are Catholic. The capital of the Republic is Dublin; the capital of Northern Ireland is Belfast. The Republic of Ireland is divided into 26 counties. The official languages are Irish and English.
